A client-facing, mobile-first, accessible web application that simplifies the car-loan application process, deployed across four countries and a network of car dealers from one configurable codebase.
I helped a major bank take its car-loan sales online across four countries from one codebase.
Context
Santander’s Auto E-Commerce project is a customer-facing web application that simplifies applying for a car loan. A buyer configures their financing at a dealer or online and completes the application in a guided, mobile-first flow. The application runs in four countries, each with its own network of car dealers, local requirements, and regulatory particulars.
The central engineering challenge was genericity. The solution had to be configurable enough that no country or dealer needs a bespoke UI, while still absorbing different products, validation rules, and dealer branding, and it had to stay consistent, user-friendly, and accessible throughout.
My role
Frontend React developer on the application.
Highlights
- One codebase, four countries. A configuration-driven UI absorbs per-country and per-dealer differences without forked frontends.
- Mobile-first and accessible. The loan application flow is designed for the devices customers actually use at a dealership, and accessibility was treated as a hard requirement.
